18 million international guests the target in 2024
The Việt Nam National Administration of Tourism (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) reports that in January 2024, the number of international visitors to Việt Nam exceeded 1.5 million, a 10.3 per cent increase compared to the previous month and a remarkable 73.6 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2023. It is indeed an encouraging signal for Việt Nam’s tourism industry, providing motivation and confidence to achieve the goal of welcoming 17-18 million international visitors in 2024.

HCM City unveils 2024 tourism promotion, festival events
Ho Chi Minh City has announced plans to organise a range of major tourism promotion events within and outside the country throughout this year in an effort to boost tourism in the city. By doing so, the country’s largest city aims to attract both domestic and international visitors by showcasing the city’s unique traditions and cultural attractions.

Vietnam attends tourism fair in India
Da Nang city’s Tourism Department, the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, and the Vietnam Travel and Marketing Transports Joint Stock Company (Vietravel) opened booths to promote Vietnam tourism at the 31st South Asian Travel and Tourism Exchange (SATTE 2024) in Greater Noida, India. Held from 22-24 February, SATTE brought together more than 1,800 exhibitors, over 800 international and domestic buyers, and agents/operators/professionals from over 120 Indian cities and towns. The event attracted more than 48,000 visitors.

Da Nang a top wedding destination for foreign couples
Da Nang has become a destination for many foreign couples organising romantic wedding ceremonies. Though the direct route that links India and Da Nang has been suspended, Indians still want to organise important events in their lives in Da Nang. They take flights with transit points in Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. According to the Da Nang Tourism Department, a large-scale event from 19-21 January was the first group of travellers coming to Da Nang from India to attend wedding ceremony this year.
