Thailand has just been named number one in CEOWORLD Magazine’s list of the World’s Best Countries to Visit in Your Lifetime in 2024. The list reflects the results of an online survey conducted among 295,000 users, making it one of the most comprehensive insights into travel trends available to the industry.
According to inputs from travellers and subscribers to CEOWORLD Magazine, Thailand was chosen due to its diverse attractions and the many areas of interest it offers to various traveller demographics. This includes everything from urban nightlife to nature escapes, foodie havens and cultural events.
Quoted in Thaiger, CEOWORLD encapsulated this appeal as follows: “In Thailand, lifestyles choices were diverse for tourists to enjoy their vacation including nightlife, lively art and culture, delicacy, top-tier shopping centres, beautiful nature and many more things to discover in Thailand.”
Earlier this year, Thailand also featured prominently on TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards. Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Pattaya and Khao Lak were all named among the Best of the Best Destinations, while on the list of the World’s 15 Most Sustainable Destinations, Bangkok took the 11th spot. This underscores Thailand’s ongoing commitment to sustainable tourism.
Bangkok also secured 15th place on the list of the World’s 25 Top Destinations named by TripAdvisor. The listing said of Bangkok: “golden palaces, floating markets, majestic porcelain-laid spires…you’ve never seen a capital city quite like Bangkok…”
Phuket was named 18th on the list, which said “Thailand’s largest island is an international magnet for beach lovers and serious divers, who enthusiastically submerge themselves in the Andaman Sea…”
Recognition from TripAdvisor and CEOWORLD Magazine is the latest in a serious of recent accolades for the Land of Smiles, as Thailand continues its revival following the closures of the Covid era. With tourism finally returning to pre-pandemic levels, the kingdom’s reputation remains undiminished on the global stage. Top spot on the CEOWORLD list is further evidence of both the revival, and the enduring appeal of Thailand.
