A Message from our Thailand office:

Hello from Thailand,

The latest news from the Land of Smiles is that we have a New Prime Minister! Paetongtarn Shinawatra won the parliamentary vote on Sunday, 17 August and received a formal endorsement from His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn, becoming the country’s youngest ever PM. She pledged to do her duty, show loyalty to the royal institution and act with honesty for the benefit of the nation.

Turning to the airline sector, and in response to rising tourism demand, Thai Lion Air is expanding its fleet and reinstating flights. The airline has targeted 6-7 million more passengers via the new routes, so we can expect plenty more arrivals to Thailand in the months ahead. On 16 August, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) celebrated Malaysia Airlines’ inaugural non-stop flight from Kuala Lumpur to Chiang Mai, adding more arrivals to the growing number of international holidaymakers in Thailand.

Those who visit will have plenty of great attractions to choose from. For first timers and seasoned pros, a great place to start is Bangkok. Our Sampraeng Foodie & Walking Tour in Bangkok Old Town explores Sam Phraeng, an area known for its rich cultural heritage and traditional way of life. This makes it a great destination for tourists looking to explore the historical roots of our nation’s capital.

In August, we have welcomed a large number of clients from the USA to Thailand, along with consistently strong numbers of European travellers. To get ready for the upcoming season, Panorama Destination Thailand will conduct product training and inspection trips for our office staff, as part of our ongoing commitment to develop new products and expand our IT knowledge.

September is something of a rarity in Thailand, as it is a month without any public holidays. Nevertheless, Thailand always offers plenty of reasons for celebration for travellers – from its fascinating array of cultures and traditions to its beautiful natural sites and tourist attractions. We still have a lot of rain in the northern and southern parts of the country, but the rainy season is set to end in September. We are currently offering special rates on accommodation, transportation and guided tours, so please contact us for more details.

Warm regards,

Pat Pattaranan Sappattarabune

General Manager, Panorama Destination Thailand.
