Season’s greetings from Thailand,

As we approach the end of 2024, it’s a good time to reflect on a very successful and fulfilling year at Panorama Destination Thailand. To date, we have welcomed nearly 17,000 travellers from around the world, which represents an 11% increase on 2023 – and we still have another month of peak season ahead of us!

2024 has been an especially busy year in regard to the European and US market, with increasing numbers of travellers from these areas choosing the Land of Smiles as their destination for fantastic holiday experiences.

During the winter season, we’re expecting even more arrivals from all over the world, thanks in part to a range of new flights opened up by airlines to meet the seasonal demand. ITA Airways have recently announced a new route that connects Italy and Thailand, while the resumption of direct flights by British Airways from London Gatwick to Bangkok will also provide a welcome boost to our winter numbers.

If you have clients making the trip this December and are looking for a memorable NYE party, we can certainly recommend a few places: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Phuket and Samui all offer something special, from urban adventures to beach breaks and island getaways. Alternatively, if you have clients who want to get away from it all this December, we recommend a refreshing trip into the mountains surrounding Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.

The latter destination will play host to the ASEAN Flower Festival Chiang Rai 2024, which will celebrate the theme “The Magical Garden” with stunning flower displays and enchanting landscapes. Held at the Kok Riverside Garden (Chiang Rai Provincial Administrative Organization from 16 December 2024 – 5 January 2025, this special horticultural event is not to be missed!

There are a few national holidays coming up in the calendar this month, including Memorial Day for King Rama IX on 5 December, Constitution Day on 10 December and, of course, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Please note the Panorama Destination office will be closed on each of these dates.

In addition to looking back on the success of 2024, we’re already planning ahead to next year. At Panorama Destination, we’re looking forward to continuing our shift in focus towards sustainability, with a range of tours and packages developed to emphasise culture, nature and food. We look forward to sharing more with you in the new year, and hearing what your clients make of these new offerings.
