A message from Panorama Destination Indonesia
Hello from Indonesia!
First of all, I’m delighted to announce that Panorama Destination has been officially named the Best Travel Agency (Asia Pacific) by the Travel Weekly Asia Readers’ Choice Awards 2024; a prestigious annual event, dedicated to honouring excellence and recognising outstanding contributions within the travel industry. This accolade is a symbol of our commitment to providing superior travel services to all our clients and partners. If you voted in the awards, thank you for making us Number One!
There’s plenty of other news to report from Indonesia this month, beginning with the first ever Wonderful Indonesia Tourism Fair (WITF), held at PIK in Jakarta on 2–4 October. More than 150 international buyers attended the show, which demonstrated the growing appeal of Indonesian tourism and its centrality to the travel trade industry in Southeast Asia.
Panorama Destination was present at WITF at PIK Jakarta from 2–4 October and will also be participating at ITB Asia 2024, held at Marina Bay Sands Singapore from 23–25 October. Top of our promotional agenda will be popular locations such as Sumatra, Java, Bali and Lombok.
If you’re intending to visit the show, please drop by to see us at Booth no. C51.
This month is set to be another busy one, with anticipated pax handling increasing significantly compared to October 2023. Most of our bookings for the month ahead come from Europe, South Africa and North America, while travellers from ASEAN markets also remain a consistently strong demographic.
October certainly is a popular time for visiting Indonesia, with many airlines – such as Korean Air and Thai Airways – increasing their schedule to double daily flights in the middle of the month to meet demand. Aeroflot has also added two new weekly flights direct to Bali from Moscow. All in all, these changes bode well for the months ahead, and for Indonesian tourism in general.
Finally, this month we will also see the inauguration of our newly elected president, Prabowo Subianto, who will officially take office on 20 October, 2024. We hope he will continue to move the nation forward, and build on the successes of the previous administration, particularly in regards to sustainable tourism development.
Warmest wishes,
Ricky Setiawanto,
Director of Business Development, Panorama Destination Indonesia
