Hanoi was the setting for some of the fiercest fighting that took place in the Vietnam War. This immersive tour introduces you to some important sites and influential figures from the events that unfolded here. You will visit two fascinating museums to learn the backstory and see authentic artefacts, then hear eyewitness accounts from a veteran pilot who helped repel an American air raid in December 1972. You will also visit Long Bien Bridge; built in 1902 by Sir Gustave Eiffel's company, it remains a symbol of courage and a testament to the sacrifice of previous generations during Vietnam's tragic yet triumphant history.
This tour takes you into the past, to discover the people and places that shaped Vietnam in its most turbulent times.
Start your day with a visit the Ho Chi Minh Trail Museum, dedicated to the famous supply route from the Communist north to the occupied south of Vietnam. Next, visit the B52 Victory Museum to learn more about the Vietnam War. You will have chance to talk with veteran Nguyen Hong My, who was the first Vietnamese pilot to shoot down an American fighter jet in 1972.
