Cat Tien National Park is a protected area, located 150 km north of Ho Chi Minh City. The area was damaged by the American War, although many large trees survived and have made a full recovery. Lots of wildlife has since returned to the area; the park is now home to around 350 species of birds, more than 400 species of butterflies and over 100 hundred mammals.
Day 1
Ho Chi Minh – Cat Tien

You will be picked up in the early morning and transferred to Cat Tien National Park, approx. 3 hours’ drive from Ho Chi Minh City. Arrive and check in at your hotel, before enjoying a picnic lunch. After lunch, take a guided walk into the park, where you can see species such as flycatchers, barbers, orange-headed trogons and cuckoos, drongos and oders. When darkness falls you will also see / hear owls. Dinner and accommodation in the park.
Day 2
Full-day Birdwatching

Rise early in the morning, then drive by jeep through the forest towards Crocodile Lake, situated in Bau Sau, approximately 10km away. Walk a further 5km to reach the lake itself. This is a great place to spot the many species of birds endemic to the park. Picnic lunch followed by further birdwatching and/or leisure time in the afternoon. Dinner and accommodation in the park.
Day 3
Cat Tien – Ho Chi Minh City

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then proceed out into the park for a morning of birdwatching and exploration. Following lunch, you will be transferred back to Ho Chi Minh City.
Note: Own equipment is required. Please inform us in advance if you have a specific must-see list, so we can coordinate with park authorities and guides to get the most out of your trip.
