The jewel in the crown of Sarawak’s national parks, World Heritage-listed Mulu is the largest national park, covering 544 sq km of primary rainforest, which is crisscrossed by fast-flowing rivers and clear jungle streams. Mulu is dominated by three mountains – Gunung Mulu (2,376 m), Gunung Api (1,750 m) and Gunung Benarat (1,858 m). Yet many of Mulu’s greatest attractions lie deep below the surface. Hidden underneath the forested slopes of these mountains is one of the largest limestone cave systems in the world.
Walk into Deer Cave and Lang Cave on the first day with an inspiring walk through the secondary jungle. On the next day, continue to explore the Wind and Clearwater Caves; unlike the journey to the Deer and Lang’s cave, the trip on this day is done by longboat. On your way, there is a stop-off at Batu Bungan - a Penan resettlement area where you are invited to buy souvenirs or try your hand at using a traditional blowpipe.
Day 01
Arrive Mulu National Park
(- /- /D)
Upon arrival, transfer from Mulu Airport to Mulu National Park. Walk through peat swamp forest to visit the Deer Cave, the world's largest cave passage. Lang Cave, although smaller, it is no less impressive. The bats deposit a huge amount of guano in the cave, providing a unique and important ecosystem to millions of insects and their predators. In the evening, behold the spectacular sight of millions of flying bats leaving from their cave in search of food. Overnight.
Day 02

After breakfast, take a boat ride to Clearwater Cave, the longest cave passage in South East Asia and the tenth longest in the world at 107 kilometres. Explore the Wind Cave, named after the cool breeze that fans from its entrance, famed for its unusual calcite formations. The “King’s Room” unravels a treasure trove of impressive glistening stalactites and stalagmites. Thereafter proceed to Batu Bungan Penan Settlement, to observe the tribal lifestyle and their handicraft heritage. Overnight.
