From 15 January to 31 May 2025, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will promote golf tourism through a special new campaign, entitled “Surat Thani Green Fee with Meaning”. This exclusive promotional campaign combines world-class golf resorts with sustainable tourism activities in one of the country’s most beautiful locations: Surat Thani.
As part of the campaign, the first 600 golfers to tee off on weekdays and weekends in the idyllic natural surroundings of Ratchaprapa Dam in Khao Sok National Park will get an exclusive 50% discount on green fees. The deal has been created in collaboration with Ratchaprapa Dam Golf Course and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand.
“This campaign positions Surat Thani as a destination for golfers while supporting sustainable tourism,” explains Ms. Mantana Bhuthorarak, Director of the TAT Surat Thani Office. “Visitors can immerse themselves in the area’s stunning landscapes and rich culture, while contributing to the local economy; it’s more than just a round of golf – it’s an inspiring journey that creates meaningful connections.”
Ratchaprapa Dam has long been famed for its dramatic scenery. In recent years, the region has also been developing a reputation for excellence in ecotourism. The latest programme from TAT showcases these wonders, and the wider beauty of the Surat Thani region, by combining premier golf experiences with sightseeing and immersion in nature. Visitors can take a boat from Cheow Lan pier to explore attractions such as Khao Sam Kloe, Pra Kie Phet Cave, Tham Thalu and traditional floating houses.
Surat Thani Province, which is sometimes referred to simply as Surat, is the largest of Thailand’s southern provinces. Located on the western shores of the Gulf of Thailand, Surat Thani means ‘city of good people’. The limestone mountains of the Phuket range stretch out to the west of the province, giving way to the world-famous Khao Sok National Park. To the east is the Nakhon Si Thammarat mountain range, which borders Tai Rom Yen National Park.
With so many natural wonders on its doorstep, and an irresistible array of golfing experiences to enjoy too, Surat Thani Province offers a diverse and satisfying range of attractions for travellers to enjoy. Supported by the TAT’s new promotional partnership, visitors to this region in the months ahead will find Thailand has golfing holidays down to a tee.
