As tourism continues its revival across Southeast Asia, Panorama Destination is navigating the new normal and working to safeguard returning visitors. Our latest step in this journey sees us partnered with the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), increasing our capacity to provide Panorama Destination guests with safe travels in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam.
In collaboration with a network of international health experts, national governing bodies and industry associations, Panorama Destination and WTTC are working together to implement effective health and safety protocols, including action plans and accreditation. Approved by WHO and CDC, these protocols incorporate the latest guidelines and safety measures for tourism providers.
Part of the ‘Safe Travels’ campaign, these protocols include insights, toolkits and standard operating procedures for the industry to follow, thereby enabling standardised service and stringent protective measures for clients in each of our destinations. These SOP from WTTC cover a range of sectors, including hospitality, attractions, outdoor retail, aviation, airports, cruises, convention centres and MICE.
According to the organization’s website, “(WTTC) envision a future of travel which is safe, secure, seamless and provides an authentic and meaningful experience to the traveller across the journey.” The solutions and safety measures provided will also help support the livelihoods of millions of local people working in the tourism sector, helping to revive sustainable economic growth in the locations where Panorama Destination operates.
Travellers can recognise providers, attractions, operators and services aligned with the WTTC campaign, thanks to an eye-catching stamp that bears the ‘Safe Travel’ slogan, logo and branding. Tour operators – such as Panorama Destination – displaying this stamp are shown to be in compliance with globally standardised health and hygiene protocols approved and implemented by WTTC, WHO and CDC.
To date, the ‘Safe Travels’ protocols have been adopted by more than 1,200 companies in over 80 destinations worldwide, including Southeast Asia. Comprising over 200 CEOs, chairpersons and presidents of the world’s leading travel companies, the WTTC represents a cross-section of major players in the international tourism sector. Panorama Destination has joined this coalition because we believe they can offer unparalleled depth of knowledge and resources for safeguarding against COVID-19, combined with broad scope for implementation and support.
Panorama Destination continues to update our protocols, services, policy and operating procedures as new information becomes available and best practices are shared across the industry by leading experts in their respective fields. We will continue to support our staff, partners, suppliers and clients with the most up-to-date advice, to ensure that Panorama Destination clients can enjoy safe and memorable travel experiences in Southeast Asia with peace of mind.
